Portage Avenue was closed in both directions after a serious collision between a motorcycle and a minivan.
Police say the collision happened around 2:15 pm on Saturday, June 2, 2018.
The motorcycle was travelling west on Portage Avenue when it hit the van crossing portage northbound at Home Street.
The motorcycle rider was seriously injured in the crash and taken to hospital in critical condition where he later died of he died of his injuries.
The driver and passenger in the van took off on foot after the collision.
Police closed Portage Avenue in both directions between Arlington Avenue and Home Street while members from the traffic division investigated the crash.
Police are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has any information that can help investigators to contact them at 204-986-7085.
