Serious collision on Dale Blvd sends several people to hospital

UPDATED

Winnipeg Police Service is investigating a serious single-vehicle collision that happened around 1:00 am March 10, 2021, on Dale Boulevard near Chiltern Place.

When emergency crews arrived they found an SUV with several people trapped inside. Firefighters extricated a male passenger from the front seat of the vehicle using the jaws of life.

Three people were treated by paramedics at the scene and transported to hospital. One male passenger was taken to hospital and remains in critical condition. The second male passenger in now in stable condition. The driver was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Police say the driver lost control of the SUV and struck a tree.

Based on the damage to the vehicle it appears that speed played a factor in the collision.
