Serious collision caused as driver of alleged stolen vehicle tries to flee

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a collision on Notre Dame Avenue at Spruce Street involving several vehicles around 10:30 pm Friday, December 17, 2021.

Witness tell News 4 that a red Ford Ranger pickup truck exited a parking lot into traffic clipping another vehicle. The driver then crossed the inside lane attempting to turn westbound on Notre Dame. As the vehicle changed lanes it was hit on the driver’s side by a car. The red pickup truck sustained significant damage but did not stop and fled the scene.

The pickup truck had been allegedly stolen minutes before the crash.

The female driver of the car was transported to the hospital in unknown condition. The driver of the vehicle that was clipped was not physically injured.

Winnipeg Police are investigating the collision.
