Serious assault on Burrows Avenue claims life of victim

Winnipeg Police are investigating a homicide after police were called to the intersection of Burrows Avenue and Aikins Street for the report of an assault around 1:48 am Sunday, November 7, 2021.

According to police, officers located the unresponsive adult male victim and began emergency first aid as they waited for paramedics to arrive.

Paramedics provided CPR to the victim and transported him to hospital in critical condition where he was pronounced dead.

A police dog searched the area for the assailant as officers expanded the scene for several blocks. Some of the officers on the scene were visibly upset by the incident.
