On Tuesday at approximately 2:00 p.m., a man and woman allegedly forced their way into a home located in the 300 block of Qu’Appelle Avenue. Once inside, a 27 year old occupant was confronted, physically assaulted and robbed.
While the victim lay on the floor, a flammable liquid was poured on to him and ignited. The suspects fled leaving the victim behind as he screamed for help. A passer-by heard the victims calls and dialed 911.
The victim was taken to hospital with a number of serious injuries. He is in stable condition.
Police located and arrested one of the alleged suspects in the area about 30 minutes after the incident.
Royce Darcy BERENS, 34 years old has been charged with multiple offences due to his alleged involvement and remanded into custody.
