Winnipeg police have arrested and charged a 37-year-old male in connection to a road rage incident at River Avenue and Osborne Street.

Police were called to the area around 6:10 pm on January 15, 2023, and found a 75-year-old male on the ground with an upper-body injury. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries.

Investigators learned that the victim an accused were involved in a road rage incident and both drivers pulled into a parking lot in the 400 block of River Avenue. The both got out of their vehicles and the victim was then assaulted, rendered unconscious and fell to the ground. The victim sustained life-altering injuries.

Investigators placed the suspect in custody on June 21, 2023, and have charged him for his alleged involvement with Aggravated Assault.

He was released on an undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code of Canada.
