Police are investigating an attempted robbery that sent a senior to hospital in unstable condition.
Investigators say that around 4:30 pm on Saturday May 15, 2021, a woman in her 90s was at Portage Avenue and Vaughn Street holding on to a walker. An unknown female approached her and attempted to steal the walker. The senior fell to the concrete and was injured. The suspect fled on foot without the walker.
The victim was helped by bystanders and taken to hospital. Her condition was upgraded to stable.
No arrests have been made but members of the Major Crimes Unit are continuing to investigate.
