On Sunday, July 4, 2021, RCMP in Selkirk responded to a report of an unconscious male behind a building on Manitoba Avenue.
When officers arrived they located the male who was shallow breathing but unresponsive. Police say that drug paraphernalia was near the male and when he stopped breathing the officers administered Naloxone.
The man began breathing again and regained consciousness as paramedics arrived on the scene.
RCMP carry Naloxone for situations like this and are also trained in first aid.
The male was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel and taken to hospital.
