Selkirk Avenue Quickie Mart goes up in flames

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a fire at the Quickie Mart on Selkirk Avenue at McGregor Street just before midnight on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

When crews arrived to the multi-use building they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure. Over the next hour and a quarter firefighters battled the blaze from inside the building. The fie was declared under control at 1:09 a.m.

The occupants of the building were able to safely evacuate before emergency crews arrived on the scene. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
