Secret meth lab dismantled by police

Winnipeg police have dismantled a clandestine lab manufacturing methamphetamine at an apartment building on Mayfair Avenue.

Police say that on Saturday March 30, 2019 they were contacted by a contractor doing work on the building who told them he had found what he believed was a drug lab in one of the suites.

Officers responded and confirmed it was a lab. The specialized Clandestine Lab Team were called in to secure and ventilate the suite.

Police dismantled the lab which was fully functional and seized the lag equipment along with a pressure cooker, a chemical suit, gloves and a breathing mask. Officers also found chemicals including Drano, Acid and Red Phosphorus.

While the Clandestine Lab Team were working to dismantle the illegal facility the resident from the suite returned home and was taken into custody.

Conal Patrick Moran, 29 has been charged for his alleged involvement with Production of a Schedule Substance, possession of a Schedule Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Mischief Under $5,000 (x2).

He was detained in custody.
