Winnipeg police have arrested a second suspect in the killing of Mohamed Mohiadin Ahmed in October 2020.
Ahmed’s body was pulled from the Red River near Churchill Drive and Hay Street. Investigators determined that Ahmed had been murdered at a Fort Garry area home days prior to the discovery of his body.
In January 28-year-old Jesse James Dather was arrested and charged with Second-Degree Murder.
On April 27, 2021, investigators arrested 21-year-old Evan Daniel Bill Brightnose-Baker at a residence in the Willian Whyte neighbourhood. He has also been charged with Second-Degree Murder for his alleged involvement in the killing.
He was detained in custody.
