Just after midnight on Sunday, January 28, 2018, RCMP say a 35-year-old woman was taken to St. Thersa Point Nursing Station after she had been assaulted. She was pronounced dead on arrival.
Island Lake RCMP investigated and learned that the woman had been assaulted by a 34-year-old male.
Police have arrested and charged Jonathan Wood for his alleged involvement.
Wood is facing the following:
- Second Degree Murder
- Breach of Recognizance x 13
- Fail to Comply with Probation x 4.
Wood remains in custody.
The homicide investigation continues.
St. Thersa Point is about 465 Kilometres north of Winnipeg
