Winnipeg Police Service Homicide detectives have arrested a 45-year-old male for the murder of 46-year-old Marie Morin.

On Friday May 15, 2020, police and paramedics responded to a multi-family residential building in the 300 block of Redwood Avenue for a report of an injured female.

Morin was found inside one of the suites suffering from a significant laceration. She was taken to hospital in critical condition where she was pronounced dead.

Brandon Carl Starnyski was arrested and charged for his alleged involvement with Second Degree Murder and Fail to Comply Probation Order.

Investigators say that Morin had been socializing with Starnyski in his suite when she was assaulted. The murder is considered domestic in nature.

Starnyski was detained in custody.
