RCMP in Manitoba has laid Second Degree Murder charges in a 17-year-old case.
Police say that they have arrested and charged 42-year-old Kevin Charles Queau, of Vancouver British Columbia, for his alleged involvement in the death of Crystal Saunders. Saunders had gone missing from Winnipeg on April 18, 2007, and her body was located a day later near St. Ambroise. She had been last seen by a Winnipeg Police Service officer near Sargent Avenue and Sherbrooke Street late in the evening. Around 9:00 am the next day an off-duty RCMP officer found Saunders deceased while he was checking his trapline. The officer contained the scene until investigators arrived.
Police located DNA evidence on Saunders’s body and were able to link that DNA to Queau once technology had advanced by 2014. Investigators were able to gain enough evidence over the years to arrest and charge the accused, say police.
Police are continuing to investigate and ask anyone with information regarding this matter or other matters concerning Kevin Queau to call 1-888-673-3316.
