Search for dangerous Saskatchewan suspects expands to Manitoba

UPDATED

RCMP in Melfort Saskatchewan issued a dangerous person alert after multiple people were randomly attacked and stabbed in James Smith Cree Nation and in Weldon, Sask early Sunday morning, September 4, 2022.

RCMP say that 10 people are dead and another 15 are injured following multiple stabbings in 13 different locations in Saskatchewan.

Police say that they are searching for Damien and Myles Sanderson

Damien Sanderson is 5’7″ and 155 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Myles Sanderson is 6’1″ and 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Police say the pair are considered extremely dangerous and should not be approached.

Around 11:45 am Sunday morning RCMP issued a release that said they thought the suspects may be in the Regina area and driving a black Nissan Rogue with SK license plate 119 MPI. People in Regina have been advised to shelter in place.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority has reported that there are a “high number of casualties”  and have called in additional staff to help respond to the influx of patients. SHA says that there are multiple casualties being treated at multiple sites.

The alert area was expanded at 2:42 pm to include Alberta and Manitoba.
