Manitoba COVID-19 enforcement officers were busy during the first week of January (4th to 10th) going after those who continue to ignore the provincial public health restrictions.
Enforcement officers gave out 249 warnings and nearly $77 thousand worth of fines to individuals and businesses.
Of the 33 $1,296 tickets issued to individuals 22 were for gatherings in private residences reported through the tip line. Eight $298 tickets were handed out to individuals for failure to wear a mask in indoor public places.
Six businesses were also handed out $5,000 tickets for various COVID-19 related infractions.
The current public health orders are in place until January 22, 2021.
