Winnipeg Police issued a reminder to drivers that reduced speed limits in school zones are still in effect during holidays like Louis Riel Day.

School zone speed limits are in place Monday to Friday between September 1 and June 30, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Police say that enforcement may be in place.

The maximum speed in a posted school zone is 30 kph.
