The City of Winnipeg announced that in consultation with the Winnipeg School Division they have suspended the school trustee by-election for WSD wards 3and 4.
Officials say that the move was decided upon to protect the community from transmission of COVID-19.
If the suspended polls are not re-opened within seven days of the original Election day or the results become invalid and a new election must be held.
The by-election was scheduled for this Saturday March 21, 2020.
