Emergency crews responded to a fire in the 100 block of Ruby Street just before 8:30 pm Wednesday night, October 20, 2021.
When crews arrived on the scene they found smoke coming from the two-and-a-half-storey house. An offensive attack was launched with the fire declared under control at 9:36 pm. Crews set up a fire watch throughout the night to deal with any hot spots that may have occurred.
Three people inside the home at the time of the fire were able to get themselves out before firefighters arrived on the scene.
A cat was located inside the home but had died.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
