Ross Avenue home suffers significant damage during overnight fire

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) are investigating the cause of an early morning fire on Ross Avenue,

Around 1:45 am fire crews were called to a two-and-a-half storey home in the 500 block. When they arrived they saw heavy smoke coming from the structure.

An offensive attack was initially launched but firefighters were forced out of the building as conditions deteriorated. It took several more hours but the blaze was finally declared under control around 4:45 am.

Damage to the home from smoke, flames and water is extensive.

No one was found inside the home after crews conducted a search.
