Four arrested in Salter Street robbery

Four suspects are facing a number of robbery and weapon charges after they robbed a store in the 100 block of Salter Street Thursday morning, April 12, 2018.

Police say the young men walked into the business and began taking items from the shelves. When asked if they needed help from store staff one of the suspects said they “could do what they want”.

The group of thugs continued to grab items before leaving the store. On the way out one of the suspects pulled out a machete and threatened the clerk.

Police say that officers found the suspects shortly after the robbery and were able to arrest them after a short foot chase.

Two of the suspects had replica handguns and one was found to have the machete down the front of his pants

Thunder Lightening FONTAINE, 18 from Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement with Possess Weapon, Carry Concealed Weapon, Fail to Comply with Probation Order and Robbery.

Colton Ross DESMERAIS, 18, has been charged for his alleged involvement with Robbery, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possess Weapon and Carry Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition.

David Walter ANDERSON, 20, has been charged for his alleged involvement with Robbery and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

Police also arrested a 15-year-old teen. He is facing charges for his alleged involvement for Robbery, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possess Weapon and Carry Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition.

All four accused were held in custody.
