RCMP from St. Pierre-Jolys have three adults in custody after a December 23, 2018, robbery in Tourond about 50 kilometres south of Winnipeg.
Police say that just after 3:30 pm two females and one male walked into the business took multiple items off the shelves then left the business without attempting to pay. When the owner went outside to confront the thieves he was threatened with an extendable baton.
The suspects tried to flee in a stolen vehicle but it got stuck in the snow as RCMP officers arrived on scene. The two female suspects were taken
Officers were able to track the male to a property about a kilometre away from the robbery by following his footprints in the snow.
25-year-old Christopher Murdock from
29-year-old Shauna Owen from Winnipeg was arrested and charged for her alleged involvement with Robbery, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Property obtained by crime, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Fail to Comply with conditions x 2, Assault and Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. She also had two outstanding Manitoba-wide warrants for her arrest.
33-year-old Amber Roberts from Winnipeg was arrested and charged for her alleged involvement with Robbery, Possession of Property obtained by crime, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Fail to Comply with conditions, Assault, Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and Fail to comply with a probation order. She also had three outstanding Manitoba-wide warrants for her arrest.
All three suspects were detained in custody.
RCMP continue to investigate.
