Two teen males and one teen female facing charges
Winnipeg Police have put three suspects behind bars after the trio committed a number of robberies and assaults over the weekend.
In the early morning hours of Friday, July 21, 2017, the residents of a home located in the 5600 block of Rannock Avenue called the police to report that a male suspect had broken into their home, robbed them then discharged pepper spray at them. The lone male suspect then took off taking one of the victim’s vehicles in the process.
On Sunday, July 23, 2017, around 6:30 am people in a home located in the 100 block of Wendon Way called the police to tell them about a break-in and assault. Two people had broken into their home, one with a firearm, assaulted and robbed them. The suspects then fled. Both of the victims suffered injuries, one suffered minor injuries and the other was taken to the hospital and treated for a number of cuts and bruises.
An hour later two male youths were forced off their bikes in the Aberdeen Avenue and Salter Street area of the city. A male neither youth knew pointed a firearm at them and ordered them off the bikes. As the boys ran away the suspect chased them for a short distance. Both boys escaped without being injured.
Investigators located and arrested the suspects later in the day on Sunday.
An 18-year-old male, a 15-year-old male and a 17-year-old female are facing a number of charges including Armed Robbery and Break and Enter.
Police recovered a sawed off 12-gauge shotgun, bear mace and a number of other stolen items.
