Winnipeg Police Service has arrested and charged a 28-year-old man in connection to two robberies in as many days.
On February 13, 2024, around 7:00 p.m., the suspect walked into a fast food restaurant in the 1100 block of Main Street, approached the counter and indicated he had a gun and demanded money. Once he was given an undisclosed amount of cash the suspect fled.
The next morning, around 11:15 a.m, the suspect entered a financial institution in the 100 block of Rothesay Avenue. He indicated he had a gun and demanded money. The suspect then fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
Officers searched the area and located the suspect near Raleigh Street and McLeod Avenue. Police say the suspect was not armed at the time of his arrest.
Victor Mutombo Ilunga was charged for his alleged involvement with two counts of Robbery and detained in custody.
No injuries were reported in either incident and officers recovered some of the stolen funds.
