Just after 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, two men wearing masks and armed with a gun walked into a business on Young Street then locked the door behind them trapping at least two other people in the building with them.
When police arrived officers confirmed the doors were locked and waited for other units to arrive including the Tactical Support Team. The short standoff with police ended when one of the male suspects exited the building and was taken into custody. Police found the second suspect inside the building and placed him under arrest.
According to investigators, the suspects had demanded money and pointed a gun at one of the employees who had tried to escape. The other employee struggled with the second suspect. A customer inside the building who had tipped off police to the situation was able to flee the building.
