Winnipeg police are on the lookout for a knife wielding robbery suspect who has hit multiple stores in different areas of the city. Around 10:30pm on July 9th Winnipeg Police responded to a call about a robbery in the 100 block of Keewatin Street.
Employees reported to police that the male suspect, brandishing a knife, allegedly demanded and received an unspecified quantity of cigarettes. The suspect took off before police arrived.
26 hours later in the west end of Winnipeg the suspect allegedly struck again this time in the 3500 block of Roblin Blvd.
Police believe that the same suspect may be responsible for both robberies.
The suspect in both robberies is described as:
Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 20 to 25-years old, 5’8” to 5”10” in height, thin to medium build, short dark hair. The suspect had a tattoo on his right arm of a black outline of a cross approximately 13 centimetres in length.
