Police in Winnipeg have arrested three youth after they robbed a woman near William Avenue and Ellen Street on Sunday evening December 10, 2017.
According to police, the victim was getting into her car around 5:30 pm when she was grabbed and her purse was ripped from across her body. The victim was then pushed to the ground and assaulted as the suspects demanded her keys. As the victim yelled for help the suspects fled. Although the victim was hurt in the assault her injuries were minor and she didn’t need immediate medical help.
A few hours later that night, officers on patrol in the 400 block of Pacific spotted a group of females who matched the descriptions of the suspects. One of the females had the stolen purse in her possession.
Three female youths were arrested and charged with robbery. One of the three was released on a promise to appear in court the other two were detained in custody.
