A 43-year-old male is facing charges for a string of robberies including one that dates back to 2009.
Police say the accused has been linked to a number of robberies that occurred between February 28 and May 17, 2018, and one that occurred on January 12, 2009.
The suspect was arrested after police were alerted to a robbery on Thursday, May 17, 2018, around 8:00 pm in the 100 block of St. Anne’s Road. The robber walked into a bank and demanded money from a teller while wearing a disguise and brandishing a knife. He was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled before police arrived.
Investigators from the Major Crimes Unit located the robbery suspect a couple of hours later at a home in the first 100 block of Kettering Street.
Police say the suspect is also facing charges for the following robberies:
- January 12, 2009 – 200 block Hargrave (Restaurant)
- February 28, 2018 – 1300 block Pembina (Financial institution)
- March 7, 2018 – 1200 block of Grant Avenue (Financial Institution)
- March 8, 2018 – 1300 block Henderson Highway (Financial Institution)
- March 23, 2018 – 200 block St. Anne’s Road (Financial Institution)
- April 12, 2018 – 1800 block Portage Avenue (Financial Institution)
Andrew Jason Marceau from Winnipeg is facing seven counts of robbery, seven counts of Disguise with Intent and Possess Weapon.
He remains behind bars at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
