The suspect in an armed robbery was quickly captured after he made off with a store’s cash register.
On Tuesday, October 30, 2018, a male suspect entered a convenience store in the 800 block of Arlington Street. Wearing a disguise and armed with a knife the robber demanded money from and threatened employees.
He then stole several packages of cigarettes and tried to open the cash register. Unsuccessful in getting the register open the man grabbed it off the counter and fled the store.
A Police Service Dog and his handler tracked the suspect to the back of a residence on Home Street and placed him under arrest.
Devon Kenny Mitchel Spence, 31 from Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement with Robbery and Disguise with Intent.
He has been detained in custody.
