Winnipeg Police have arrested a 30-year-old female after she allegedly was involved in an assault and robbery of a woman just after midnight on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.
Police say that a female was walking in the 700 block of Maryland Street when she was approached by two females who ultimately robbed her. At some point, one of the suspects pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim several times in the upper body.
Officers found the victim and she was taken to hospital in critical condition but has been now upgraded to stable.
Police found one of the suspects in the 600 block of Sargent Avenue shortly after 1:30 am and placed her under arrest.
Billie Jo Cooke from Winnipeg is facing a number of charges relating to the robbery and assault including Aggravated Assault, Robbery and Fail to Comply with Recognizance.
The second suspect, a 16 year old female, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon, May 16, 2018. She is facing charges for her alleged involvement including Aggravated Assault, Robbery, Possess Weapon, and Fail to Comply with Under Undertaking.
Both suspects were detained in custody.
