Road work shuts down four busy streets beginning this week

The City of Winnipeg announced that four streets will be closed at various times this week and next to accommodate paving, railway repairs and sewer construction.

Weston Street from Logan to Alexander Avenue is closed today until 3:00 pm for paving.

Sargent Avenue will close at 6:00 pm Tuesday evening, October 13 until 6:00 am on Wednesday October 14 between Alverstone Street to Home Street. Officials say that traffic on Arlington Street will be able to travel through the intersection but will not be permitted to turn onto Sargent Avenue.

Marion Street is slated to close between Holden Avenue to Turenne Street this coming weekend for repairs to a railway crossing. The road will be closed in both directions beginning Friday October 16 at 6:00 pm until Sunday, October 18 at 11:00 pm.

Stafford Street from Hector Avenue to Jackson Avenue will be closed from 9:00 am Monday, October 19 until 11:00 pm Friday, October 23 to accommodate sewer work.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes while the roads are closed.
