River Heights power outage caused by frayed line

A power outage in River Heights Saturday night, December 5, 2020, was caused by a frayed line according to hydro workers.

Emergency crews were called to the back lane off Centennial Street at Grant Avenue shortly before 9:30 pm. Firefighters put out a small fire on the power line quickly but in order to repair the line Manitoba Hydro crews had to shut down power.

This is the part that caused the frayed line. It is used to connect a transformer to a power line according to the hydro repair crew (News 4)

Power was knocked out on Centennial and Beaverbrook Streets and surrounding area for about 45 minutes as crews worked quickly to make the repair and restore power.
