River Heights fire destroys garage and seriously damages home.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a fire around 5:19 pm Thursday, June 11, 2020, on Borebank Street in River Heights.

When firefighters arrived on scene heavy smoke and flames where coming from a well-involved fire.

The garage and fence were destroyed in the fire. Due to the intense heat the siding on a garage across the back lane from the fire melted

Although the cause of the fire is under investigation residents of the house told News 4 that the fire started due to an issue with the pool filter.

The residents said that no one was home when the fire started.

Two dogs from inside the home were reunited with family members after being rescued by a neighbour.

The home suffered significant damage due to fire, smoke and water.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries and were treated on scene by paramedics. Neither firefighter required transportation to hospital.
