When crews arrived they were greeted with smoke coming from the home.

The eight residents of the two-storey house were all able to get out of the building before firefighters arrived on the scene.

Crews launched an offensive attack with the fire being declared under control at 9:52 pm.

The cause of the fire appears to be accidental say WFPS officials.

The City of Winnipeg sent in their Emergency Social Services team to help the residents find temporary housing.
