Winnipeg gets ‘A’
In a first ever report comparing the health performance of a city and it’s citizens, Winnipeg has scored top marks.
The Conference Board of Canada gave Winnipeg a grade of ‘A’ in the City Health Monitor report that was released Tuesday December 13, 2016.
The report compares 10 cities in four different categories: Life satisfaction, Population health, Healthy lifestyle, and Access to health-care services.
According to the report Winnipeg ranked third overall behind Calgary and Saskatoon.
Although the report looked a several indicators in each category Winnipeg’s ranking was largely because of our access to health-care services but we dropped behind the two other western cities because we don’t eat enough fruits and vegetables.
