Not all people crossing illegally into Manitoba are meek and mild. On Saturday April 8, 2017 RCMP say they were called to the Emerson port of entry for a person acting aggressively after being detained by Canada Border Services Agency officers.

The 37 year old man had crossed into Manitoba illegally and was caught by the RCMP. He was searched, identified and screened before he was taken to the CBSA port to make a refugee claim

The man was placed in a cell as CBSA agents processed his claim. It was at this point that the man threatened to hurt CBSA officers. He then proceeded to damage the sprinkler in his cell causing water to spray. He also assaulted an officer during his rant.

RCMP have placed Ahmed Aden Ali, from Minneapolis, under arrest an he has been charged with Uttering Threats x2, Mischief Over $5000 and Assault Peace Officer.

He is remanded in custody.
