Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded a fire around 12:20 pm in a one-and-a-half storey house in the 200 block of Redwood Avenue.
Heavy smoke and flames were encountered by firefighters as they arrived on scene. Bystanders told emergency crews that the resident may be trapped inside.

An offensive attack and search of the home was launched immediately .
On one was found inside the structure and crews had the fire under control at 12:53 pm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
