The heavy rain earlier this week is expected to cause the Red River and Assiniboine River to rise over the next five days.
Manitoba Infrastructure’s Hydrologic Forecast Centre says the levels are expected to cover the riverwalk at the Forks.
The Red River is expected to reach as much as 12 feet at James Street between July 21 and 23.
Currently the Red River is 6.9 feet at James Street.
Outside the city, between Emerson and Ste. Agathe, river levels will rise by about 13 feet. The water levels will be below the banks of the river throughout the Red River
