Flood threat slightly decreased with colder temperatures

Manitoba has issued an updated flood forecast and say that the decrease in the temperatures we are experiencing will help slow down melting.

Levels along the Red River are now expected to equal or be slightly lower than 2011 levels.

Crews are still preparing to close ring dikes around some of the communities south of Winnipeg if needed and the Red River Floodway is expected to begin operation before Sunday, April 14, 2019.
