Red River College’s COVID-19 swab taking training course expanding

With the first cohort completing their training in the new nasal swab taking course at Red River College the province and college announced three additional intakes to the course will be made in November.

The micro-credential training course teaches students to safely perform a nasal swab on adults and children so that they can collect samples of the coronavirus at testing sites across Manitoba.

During the initial offering the college fill the first three sections within 24 hours and had nearly 120 people place on a wait-list for future intakes.

The three additional intakes being offered will begin on November 9 and run weekly until November 27. The college say that the new sections are quickly filling up and they expect that 180 health-care professionals and students will be able to safely be able to work the front line at testing sights around Manitoba.
