Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to the Notre Dame Campus of Red River College late Thursday morning, August 22, 2019, for the report of fire on the roof.
When crews arrived they found charring around a rooftop exhaust pipe on the building that houses the Gym and a boiler room.
Firefighters peeled back parts of the roof and extinguished the fire. It took about 40 minutes until the fire was out.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire appears to be accidental. Maintenance crews were working on the boiler system and may have ignited the fire.
No estimates to the amount of damage are available.
