Identity theft, fraud and forgery charges have been laid against an Alberta man after police in Winnipeg were tipped off to reports of a man using a stolen credit card.
On October 12, 2017 police went to an airport area hotel and found an adult male and an adult female in possession of items that related to fraud and identity theft. driver’s licences and cheques with other peoples names, notes with identity and credit card information, laminating sleeves, break-in tools and a laptop computer were seized.
Charged with a number of offences for his alleged involvement is Justyn Barry BOURNE, 30-years-old from Red Deer, Alberta. He has been charged with:
- Fraud Under $5000
- Possess Break In Instruments
- Unauthorized Use of Credit Care Data
- Identity Theft
- Possession of an Identity Document X2
- Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Under $5000 X2
- Possession of Instruments to be Used to Commit Forgery
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking
Bourne was held in custody
Police say the adult female was wanted on an existing warrant and was released on a promise to appear.
