RECKLESS SPEEDER BUSTED IN BRANDON AFTER POLICE CHASE

As a Brandon Police officer sat in traffic at 8th and Victoria he noticed a vehicle travelling  west on Victoria at  excessive speeds. As the vehicle approached the red light at 8th Street the driver drove between two stopped cars, sideswiping one of them and continuing through the light then turning north onto 10th Street then east onto Lorne Avenue.

The officer activated his emergency lights and siren and gave chase attempting to pull the driver over. During the pursuit the suspect vehicle ran stop signs at 9th, 8th, and 6th as it travelled down Lorne Avenue. Speeds reached 9o km/h during the chase. As the vehicle reached the 300 block of Lorne Avenue it stopped.
