RCMP responded to a female in distress who was on the bridge crossing the Red River just outside Ste Agathe on Tuesday, August 3, 2021.
By the time an officer arrived on the scene the female was in the water and was being carried downstream. It appeared that she was struggling to stay afloat.
An officer and a bystander jumped into the river, swam to the woman and pulled her to shore.
She was met at the shore by paramedics and taken to hospital .
