RCMP release more information on organized crime raids

RCMP have released details of Project Declass that saw raids on a number of properties in Winnipeg as well as St. Laurent and Calgary, Alberta.

Police say the 16-month long investigation in cooperation with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and Canada Border Services Agency was looking into a drug trafficking network based in Winnipeg.

Eleven people were arrested in connection to the investigation (7 on Dec. 3rd, 2 on Dec. 5th) and face 66 charges between them for their alleged involvement including Trafficking of Meth and Cocaine, Conspiracy to Traffic Fentanyl, Possession of Proceeds of Crime and Money Laundering.

Investigators seized 22 kilograms of Meth and 43 kilograms of Cocaine with a combined street value above $6.5 million.

Police say that this bust is the largest single Meth seizure in Manitoba.

Officers seized five vehicles and more than $100,000 in financial seizures. Several bank accounts are also under restraining orders while the investigation continues.
