In a significant drug bust, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) seized over 340 capsules believed to contain cocaine during a routine traffic stop on Fisher Avenue in Portage la Prairie. The incident occurred at approximately 10:45 am when RCMP officers on patrol conducted the stop.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered the capsules and promptly arrested the driver and three occupants. Carrie Bearbull, 45, of Portage la Prairie, has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Failure to Comply. She has been remanded into custody.
The three other occupants were released without charges. The investigation by Portage la Prairie RCMP is ongoing.
