RCMP seize 81 kilos of cocaine during drug bust

RCMP has made a major impact on an inter-provincial drug trafficking network with the seizure of millions of dollars worth of illegal drugs.

During an investigation dubbed Project Drone police identified a major international drug trafficking network that was transporting drugs into Manitoba from Ontario.

On April 5, 2021 officers seized 81 kilograms of cocaine with a street value estimated to be $7.6 million. At the same time officers also seized $1.5 million in cash.

“This cocaine seizure is believed to be the largest of its kind in Manitoba history,” said Superintendent Darcy Fleury, Federal Policing, Manitoba RCMP.

41-year-old Stephen Ferenc Stumpf from Peterborough, Ontario has been charged for his alleged involvement with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000.00

Manitoba RCMP are continuing to investigate.
