RCMP responded to a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist on Highway 59 near Grand Pointe on Thursday evening, September 10, 2020.
Just before 6:00 pm a vehicle going northbound collided with a 57-year-old female cyclist who was also travelling northbound. The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 23-year driver of the vehicle was not injured.
Police say that alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the collision.
Just over two-and-a-half hours later RCMP were called to Highway 3 about one kilometre south of Oak Bluff.
A pickup truck and an SUV were involved in a collision that claimed the life of a 73-year-old male and caused serious injuries to a 56-year-old male.
When officers arrived on scene paramedics and the local fire department were working to extricate the driver of the pick-up. He was transported by STARS Air Ambulance to Health Sciences Centre.
