Manitoba RCMP has laid charges against two youths who allegedly made threats against two separate schools in western Manitoba on February 6, 2024.
According to investigators, the incident occurred in the RM of Alonso and the RM of Portage la Prairie. In the first incident a youth had threatened to bring a gun to school. Police detained the student but no weapon was located. The investigation uncovered that the youth had allegedly assaulted two youths earlier in the day and had also uttered threats.
The 12-year-old accused was arrested and charged for his alleged involvement with Assault with a Weapon, Assault, and three counts of Uttering Threats.
The second incident involves a 12-year-old boy who made threats towards students at his school. Police located the youth at home and placed him under arrest. He was charged for his alleged involvement with Uttering Threats.
Both youth were released from custody and will appear in court in the near future.
