RCMP release sketch of the suspect in an attempted child abduction

On August 18, 2021 RCMP released information about an attempted child abduction in Portage la Prairie.

A male suspect had approached a nine-year-old girl from behind in the back lane on 10th Street NW. He grabbed the girl and asked her if she wanted to go home with him. The youth bit the suspect and was able to break free an run home.

Police have now released a composite sketch of the suspect who is described as a Caucasian male with an average build, approximately 5’3”, 40-years-of-age with either blue or green eyes. He has short white hair with a bald spot and a long white beard. He was wearing a black colored zip-up hoodie with grey sweats and reddish colored shoes.
